Yes of course the CC version and the stand alone version of LR 5 are the exact same program but there was, at one time, a separate download for the stand alone version. Adobe allows anyone to download any of the LR versions from 3 back to 1 but not LR 4 or 5. Yes, I understand all that. However, I have never been caught in this dilemma since I switched over to the Creative Cloud and don't know how to respond to those who are caught in it. There is something very confusing about the download because they become confused.
